The Girls of Rising Sun

Over the Winter, we’ll be featuring some of our fantastic summer 2014 employees.  Let’s start with two fun, witty, creative ladies who Captained the boats of St. Mary Lake over the summer.  If you took a tour at Rising Sun, you might already know:

NAME: Jane Davenport

SPIRIT ANIMAL: Big Horn Sheep- after a scary run-in, I’ve developed a very odd love/hate relationship with them.

HOME FORT: Catawba Island, OHIO

BEST DAY HIKE: Lee Ridge to Gable Pass (..and Shangri-La, but that’s a given.)

BEST OVERNIGHT: Polebridge – 4th of July!


NEVER: (Call your manager anything but Mr. President)

BACKPACK: Camera, Hammock, Nail Polish, Cheez-it’s Doritos, Swimsuit, Water, Bear Spray, BUG SPRAY, a sense of humor, and my Cloudspotter’s guidebook.



NAME: Erin Peters

SPIRIT ANIMAL: Lichen.  I’m colorful!

HOME FORT: Eau Claire, WI

BEST DAY HIKE: Siyeh Pass!


ALWAYS: Say yes to Ice Cream!

NEVER: (Call your manager anything but Mr. President)

BACKPACK: Headlamp, Hammock, Trail Mix, Extra M & M’s, Water, Bear Spray, Rain Coat, Map, Tie-die sunglasses :)
