Working in Glacier National Park

Glacier Park Boat Company

Interested in spending the summer living and working in Glacier National Park?

We are looking for energetic, friendly, hard-working people who enjoy the outdoors and are enthusiastic about sharing that joy with the thousands of visitors to Glacier National Park.

Each season we hire and train individuals as interpretive boat captains, operating our historic boats on the lakes of the Park. These include Lake McDonald, Two Medicine Lake, St Mary Lake, Swiftcurrent & Lake Josephine in Many Glacier. Boat Captains will spend portions of your day working in our ticket office assisting customers with ticket purchases and rentals or leading one of our guided hikes at select locations. We also employ Dock Hands for our Apgar Village Rental operations. And Reservations Agents for our head office in Columbia Falls.

• Wake up alongside the majestic views of the many lakes of Glacier National Park and interact with visitors from all over the world!

• Free shared housing within the Park, groceries are split between the location crew, as well as cooking and cleaning. Most employees will share a room with at least one other employee, but not to worry, in Glacier we are rarely indoors!

• Most positions have a four-day work week, around 10 hours per day for a total of approx. 40 hours per week.

• Our interaction with the public as representatives of Glacier National Park mandates a conservative appearance policy that is strictly enforced.

Season start dates are different based upon location and preference is given to those individuals with availability for the entire summer season. Dates are approximately from mid May, to mid September. *We do not have any positions ending in August.*
