Flexible Exploration Options

Upon docking at the head of the lake, you have the freedom to choose your adventure. You can stay on the boat for a 45-minute round trip tour, soaking in the scenery from the water. Alternatively, disembark and embark on a self-guided hike to popular spots like Twin Falls or Upper Two Medicine Lake.

For those who prefer a guided experience, join one of our knowledgeable guides for a scenic 1.8-mile hike to Twin Falls for a 3 hour round trip tour. After your hike, we’ll bring you back to the starting point, ensuring a seamless experience.

For hikers eager to explore further, we offer one-way return trips. This allows you to hike out and return by boat, making it perfect for trails like the Pitamakan Dawson loop. Experience an exhilarating adventure and stunning views, then relax as you cruise back across the lake.

Vehicle Reservations

Vehicle Reservations are not required to enter the Two Medicine Entrance of the Park, and Tour Reservations at Two Medicine Lake will not include Vehicle Reservations to the GTSR Corridor. Please have a copy of your Reservation Confirmation on entering the park in case of seasonal closures.

Tour Length

45 Minutes round trip, allow 2.5-3 hours for boat tour and guided hike to Twin Falls. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the drop off point for hikers.

Hiking Options

All tour times will dock at the head of Two Medicine lake to allow for hiking if water levels allow. Starting July 1st, we offer a free optional guided hike at 1pm & 3pm daily to Twin Falls Waterfall. All round trip scenic tour tickets include a return ticket (see return boat schedule below).
Please note: If you are on the 5pm tour and go hiking, you will not make the last return boat at 5:15pm, you will need to walk the 3.5 miles back to the parking lot.
*If you are staying in the backcountry campground at Upper Two Medicine Lake, you can take the boat accross and use your return ticket the day you return.

One-Way Return Tickets Available

One-way return ticket are available for return boat trips only, not out-bound travel from the main dock.

Return Boat Schedule: 9:15am, 10:15am, 11:15am*, 1:15pm*, 3:15pm* & 5:15pm*.
*multiple trips to take everyone back to main dock.

All return boats are first come first serve, please be prepared to wait up to an hour for late afternoon return trips.

Park entrance delays may occur during heavy seasonal visitation. We recommend you plan to arrive at your location at least 1 hour prior to your scheduled tour time to allow extra time to park and check-in at the ticket office. At busy times some entrances may be temporarily closed, please be prepared to present a copy of your Reservation Confirmation on entering the park in case of seasonal closures.

Two Medicine Lake Watercraft Rentals

Experience the beauty of Two Medicine Lake with our diverse selection of personal watercraft rentals! We offer a variety of options, including kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and motorboats, perfect for exploring the serene waters.

Reservations:
A limited number of watercraft are available for advanced reservations, requiring a minimum rental period of 2 hours. Reservations can be made for the first time slot of the day at 9:30 AM.
Whats Included:
All rentals include life jackets, paddles, oars, and fuel at no extra charge, ensuring a hassle-free adventure on the water.
Important Notes:
Motorboat rentals must not be beached, and for safety reasons swimming from motorboats is not permitted. Enjoy your day on the lake safely and responsibly!

Watercraft Rental

*All motorboat rentals are subject to Montana State Motorized Vehicle use tax of 4%.

To rent watercraft you must be 18 years of age. Children 13 or under must be accompanied by an adult (over 18), in the same watercraft. Children must be 14+ to operate their own craft with adult supervision. Watercraft must stay in the rented location.

The Two Medicine Ticket Office is located at the edge of the parking lot near the dock. Two Medicine Road will dead end at the parking lot. The nearest restroom facilities are located off the parking lot near the camp store.

This service is operated by Glacier Park Boat Company, a Concessioner under contract with the U.S. Government and administered by the National Park Service. The Concessioner is responsible for conducting these operations in a satisfactory manner. Services and prices are approved by the National Park Service.
